Default Will SEO still exist in 5 years?

Yes it will according to Matt Cutts, a leading software engineer at Google.

It will come as no surprise that 'annoying craphat will not be as productive'. Even more reason to concentrate on putting great content on your site.

    What do you mean soon???

Anyways, in answer to the original question...

You mean it already exists and is not just a spoof theory that is in place to sell services to the unsuspecting public offered by so called SEO experts with no formal qualifications to call themselves such....

It makes you wonder where all of these is leading to, though. I mean, Google is by far the leader in everything online. But i don't see how they could sustain themselves if they keep on giving away everything for free. Take Google Docs for example. A great service, and very useful... but how do you monetize it?

There are paid versions (enterprise solutions) for most of their products. Even if there wasn't, the revenue from paid search would keep their balance sheet healthy.

Onsite SEO in terms of building a correct structure and architecture will be there for along time.
Onsite SEO is just good web development.

If sites continue to be poorly developed then this will hamper Google in terms of delivering relevant results.

i don’t think you need to worry about poor little Google and their profits....however their making their money they have stacks of it. And in relation to seo with new developments online seemingly everyday and constant possible algorithm changes that cannot be verified i think the world of seo will be around for a long time to come.
