I notice in the above that my site is listed as www.petshop but I have my site set up so that www directs to the non www.

Does this matter to google??? Would I be better to submit a sitemap for the non www version...

Does that make any sort of sense

If you 301 redirect the "non www" to the "www", that is the correct way.

You only need one sitemap for the www side.

What is your URL? Is it .co.uk or .com

I have redirected www to the non one as this had more results in google etc.

URL is .co.uk

So it doesnt matter that google has the www one listed ??

I would personally go for the www and get the non www to be redirected to it. Reason, because the www is more standard.

Even though the non www has more results, this will in time get transferred to the www.

Though don't think it matters to google which way you do it, but it would be advised you put your sitemap on whichever you choose to be the main one.
