Help google can't index blog - panicking

I just checked the webmaster tools and every single blog post is coming up as a 404 not found error.

It last indexed on 1 April and everything seems to have been okay so this must have happened since I updated the plugins and WP.

They are also showing as not found on my website, as the blog shares the domain.

Can anyone help please?

Well, the blog has 49 pages indexed:

and 289 pages for the site overall:

http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=sit...ient=firefox-a

It sounds like a blip to me Sal

Update, it's because I took the date out of the url, so they are looking for

mydomain.co.uk/blog/2007/10/28/advice-about-online-dating-for-single-parents/

and it is now called

mydomain.co.uk/blog/advice-about-online-dating-for-single-parents/

Any solutions before I get duplicate content problems?

Ah - you won't get a duplicate content problem (as there is only one version of the url) - but it will take Google a few weeks to figure it all out (but you'll gain long term) - but you could use the redirection plugin to 301 redirect the old url's to the news ones.

That's what I would do - as you keep any page age and PR that the old urls had accrued, plus google will sort out the new indexing quicker

Phew, thank you Ray. When I split my blog can I use it to tell google to go look for the posts on the new blog?

Will go find the plugin - oh no another plugin, expect the I've broken it post soon.

Right which is the source url and which is the target url?

I am guessing the new one is the source and the old is the target?

Nearly - the Source is the old one and the Target is the new one

Accept all the other defaults - eg - accept 301 permanent, ignore the regex box etc

Tip to help remember it: "Target" is where you are aiming the old page
