It seems that Google is updating it's Directory from the DMOZ feed on a regular basis these days.
It went through a period of inactivity when it was not updated between December 2005 and September 2007 - but it's been updated on a very regular basis since then.
For example, A1 Business Forums got into DMOZ a few weeks ago and that listing has in turn already updated and appears in the Google Directory now (another handy link).
Have noticed a sudden surge in some of my rankings, wonder if its related.?

Well, I first noticed this last September when A Local Printer suddenly appeared in Google Directory for the first time (even though it had been in DMOZ since May 2006) and at the same time the directory copyright date in the footer changed from 2005 to 2007 (and now says 2008).
I noticed A1 had got in this morning when checking some back link stuff - it wasn't there last week.
I've no idea what weight this might give one's rankings - but it can't be a bad link to have surely?
