Thank you everyone for your invaluable advice and assistance. i am a member of many business forums and while they all have their own individual charm this one is the best one IMHO.

PM's are there for stuff that is sensitive and specific. Often times, PM's are exchanged, and then generic information relating to the specifics discussed are posted in the thread. That is how it must be for the sake of the person asking the questions

I'd put something subtle on those new buttons that makes it clear they are clickable. I know the cursor changes when you mouse over them but........
If you use a decent analytics package you will be able to view the site in overlay to see how often they are clicked. d
