Default Long Tail Phrases

My efforts are starting to work on several long tail phrases now, so that I am beginning to get ranked on lots if phrases like

same day courier xxx

I have 5/6 that I'm in the top 3 all of which are place names etc. And some more that are lower down the rankings. The list appears to be growning as my pages propogate round google.

As I get more of these will this boost my rank for same day courier ?? As yet I am still completely unranked on that, this isn't a complaint because I know our main pages haven't been seo's yet, just a curiosity question?

Developing longtail keywords will not directly help with your efforts to rank highly for your main keywords, but there will be indirect help. This is brought about by populating your website and the increase of visitor trends.

That said you seem to be embarking on this in an unusual manner. The most important aspect is to highlight your main keyword(s) make sure the pages targeting these phrases as search engine friendly, then embark on a targeted link building campaign. When you have a good placement for you main keywords, then set about targeting the lesser popular sector related words/phrases.

After same basic research I can see there are better keywords available in your sector, ones with more usage and less competition.

A structured plan of attack will always serve you better than the scatter gun method, I found that out to my cost many years ago

If that is the case I'd be interested in how you find them. What is your basic research, I have tried looking at different keywords etc. but I am failing to come up with real alternatives.

You are a courier, so have possibly become too obsessed with the word courier?

Not everyone knows the service as a courier service.

you need to use a thesaurus. We say courier services, people look for parcel delivery etc

Okay so I can come up with the following :-

messenger, delivery, carrier

and for same day

urgent, express

So presumably I need to work all these into my titles\text\decription etc. without it looking like a word search? Am I right?
