Has anyone else been experiencing the same thing with Google over the last week or two.

One moment i do a search and im on page 1 (4th) then when i do the search 10 minutes later im on page 2 (17th). Then there i am again back on page 1 when i search again. The is for both UK & whole web searches.

This is for the term "office supplies"

Although i think page 2 is more realistic at the moment when i look at how many backlinks some of the competition have compared to me, it was still refreshing to see my works started to pay off.

Yep, for the past 2 weeks. Maybe more.

We seem to appear on page 4 for our main search term in the day, then in the evening we appear on page 1. It's been annoying the hell out of me.

Over the past day or 2 we've actually settled around 5-7th on page 1 so hopefully this will hold.

I asked about this very issue, it's all to do with propagation, and load balance. Although OWG explained it alot better than that, so I won't take any credit for the answer

Is it just something that will continue to happen

No it seems to settle down after a while quite common.
