Submitted my site to DMOZ about 6 months ago now, but i hear it can take alot longer than that to be listed. Would be a big help if it did though

Summer you are right about the no-follow attribute I was referring to driving traffic, not link building, that said social media sites that are trying to attract visitors do not use the no-follow tag, it seems they wait until they are very popular then they introduce it.
As for classified websites these not only incorporate the no follow attribute the adverts generally run out after 30 days, this led me to set up my own advert section for link building purposes http://www.businessservicesuk.com/classifieds.php these have no 'no-follow tag and as the links are contextually based they are very good for link building purposes.
