Dragonfly web site doesn't currently have any page rank (it is fairly new though), however I have a couple of older web sites that have a PR2, which I nolonger use in any serious form.
What is the best way, if any, to make use of the PR2 web sites to aid dragonfly?
This depneds on a couple of things, like are they hosted on the same server? How many pages of content are indexed on these domains for example. I would consider placing a blog on one of them (If the domain name is suitable), and then drive traffic to the site, I would consider a business directory on the other, and advertise your business sitewide via a banner ad, (possibly nofollowed).
Or there are some that will tell you to 301 the domains to the new site and have done with it. personally I wouldn't kill and old domain for love nor money
Dragon as you are running an ecommerce website what possible gain will it serve to chase PR?
Why not build links, say 20 a day and build exposure to your site via social media and classified adverts. Ranking highly for competitive terms takes time, regardless what methods are used. People lose sight of their main aim in regards to Internet based businesses, this is to drive traffic to a website and convert them into paying customers, things like page rank have about as much relevance as ranking at the top of Google for terms no one searches for.
Thanks guys the domain are an old company name I used to use several years ago, only reason I've kept them is some of my emails are still addressed that way. The name is not really relevant to anything other than the old company.
Not really chasing page rank to be honest seoguy, just seemed awaste to have them sat there doing nothing at all.

This is exactly what i've been doing for the last couple of months, 20 a day as a target. The only trouble im finding now is that most links are now coming from PR1 or No PR sites as i've exausted my search for the higher PR sites in my area.

The only way your other sites can help dragon fly is if they are in the same general theme or niche.
Then a link for one to the other helps, but make sure it is one way only.
Also, if both domains are in your own name then don't link them at all because google will know you are self promoting. It has access to the domain register even for private registrations and will see both belong to you

I just wish this was true, really I do. I despair at the link building industry but there's no doubt link farms and link spam is working and perhaps always will.
I've been doing some research this morning for a project and the degree to which the Google index is being manipulated is breathtaking. The question is, do you ignore it and stick to the ethical path or throw the towel in and join the spam fest.

What utter claptrap
Building one way links is an art that one understands more and more after years of experimentation. Relevancy is only one factor in the algorithm.
If I owned 3 sites that were on theme and on the same server I certainly would link them together. Global chinese whispers that surrounds SEO is very amusing.
Of course Google is against 1000's of sites on the same server all networking together but a small amount, come on.
Web designers host many sites they design on which they embed their links for advertising purposes, is their ranking adversely affected?
Meader we carry out extensive link building campaigns, pages strength from PR0 - PR8 the campaign generates around 30,000 links in a 2 year period. Moving 95% of the sites we work on onto page 1 of Google.

So i should still carry on with these PR0 & PR1 Sites. I suppose some of those sites could turn into PR2-8 sites oneday. Do you recommend any paid directrories to add my site to. - Done Yahoo!, BOTW and Scoot
At present i'm looking to linkbuild myself and im in no hurry.
Maybe in the future we may consider someone like you to give us an extra push up the ladder.

I am not really into paid links, I like Yahoo and Business.com for the first year of a site, then when the site is strong enough I ditch them both. Dmoz is worth plugging away with.
