I have started doing little videos for my websites about an year and a half ago when not so many people were doing it. I thought it's funny to have something different at that time. I've seen lots of people setting up presentation videos lately and this thing became a sort of new fashion.

I have a directory where I was offering video creation and advertising for every submission since early 2007, now I'm not doing videos as it takes quite a bit of while. Just search for "video web directory", check the first result and see what I'm talking about.

I strongly believe videos and podcasts might give you a little plus ahead your competition, people find them interesting, funny and perhaps the associate them with a little more professional attitude towards your business.
