Forum links don't carry that much weight anyhow!
Now if you were to ask if it would affect your business, then only you know that. Forums often indirectly help with SEo, in as much as people will often link to your site off forum in their blogs etc.

)I have noticed a lot of links to my forum and sites from forums I frequent so would have thought that there is a benefit, even if indirectly. Repeat business may suffer, as I tend to use fellow forum posters more than unknown businesses when procuring products and services.

Do you mean text links within the actual body of a post? If so probably only a handful.
