Have just changed some of my title tags as saw we were slipping for 'pet sitters'. By doing so we have lost even more ground on google and are in danger of slipping off the first page.
I am now panicking that we could start slipping for 'pet sitting', since if this happens we are in REAL trouble.
A little knowledge can really bugg r up your website and I am now feeling extremely sick since I cannot remember my original titles
Sorry to hear that Nina and I don't know enough to be able to help.
Any backups made to the script? May be able to find the keywords/tags used originally.
I don't know how to find out my original titles. I a bit dazed at the moment .
I honestly thought I had grasped the principle of these titles etc and was SOOO proud of myself. I cannot believe how stupid I have been and now paying the price. I guess I only have myself to blame.
Take a look at the wayback machine - archive.org and see your website as it was....
EDIT...sorry just looked - archive doesnt know about you yet!
BTW...you would do better to add extra pages targetting other keyword expressions and deep linking them with correct anchor text, instead of messing around with the home page...
I guess I do panic a bit, but just cannot afford to lose our place as we rely so heavily on our website.
I just believe that all my hard work has gone down the pan, simply because I got my wires crossed I even dreamed about my website the other night. How sad is that!
The WayBack machine takes a snapshot of your site at various intervals in time, so that you can go back and look at the progress of a site during its on-going and forever changing development.
For example you can go look at what the first Google,Yahoo or Microsoft Homepage looked like.
The above (my first post) link lists your site, and the dates show when indexed, and the stars show when a new change was made.
Depending on when you added the title keywords, its possible that you could go "wayback" to that point in time, have a look at your own page, and copy the Title which you were using before.
