....or what ever its called, where can I find a good idiots guide. I have trawled through here but cant find one ?

Just need something that will explain what it is and how to fix it

there is a recent thread, probably easier to trawl the seo forum or go straight to view Redevo's posts as he was comemnting on it.

If you're on a nix/Apache server with mod_rewrite enabled, this can (usually) be fixed easily with an .htaccess file. Try Googling something like "canonicalization htaccess".

Someone on my forum has got to sort it out but he knows nothing about the internet. I tried to explain it to him but thought it easier if I just gave him something to read. I have told him to speak to his web guys...they should be able to sort it

Sorry, what I meant was what form of canonicalisation are you suffering from on your forum? is is www & non www.? is it index.php etc?

I am happy to post the code, ust need to know what issues you have with canonicalisation first
