Default Keyword density cloud -SEO

I went on a one day course for SEO and came back with lots of useful information.

I now need to go back through all my pages and re look at the page titles and wording.

One of the things we looked at in detail was the keyword density cloud. Having looked on the Internet after the course, I am now left with a couple of questions.

How important is the keyword density cloud? Some people now seem to say it is not so important as it was a few years ago.

What figures would you expect for a good keyword density cloud? I have looked on a few different sites and some of the tools they provide come back with different answers and different recommendations.

Thanks

Angela

boooooo

I can add to the topic that

"Keyword Cloud is a visual depiction of keywords used on a website, keywords having higer density are depicted in a larger fonts.
Ideally your main keywords should appear in larger fonts at the start of the cloud."

Full reference credit here

Keyword density is a factor. Amongst others. It does matter, but it isnt all that matters.

Out of context, it can actually be a distraction, as your site also needs to read effectively from the clients point of view.

Also not heard of the 'cloud' thing before either but just another peice of terminology to add to the list...

The last figure I heard in a couple of places (and believed) was optimium keyword density is around 8%. (yes there is a lot of debate around this subject so not surprised that your research has already come up with a load of variations)

However my advice is don't get too hung up on keyword density - you should always ensure your copy is written with the consumer in mind first & not the search engines.

Although the search engines are looking for your keyword within your web pages, if the keyword and the content are relevant, you should naturally be including your keyword when you write copy anyway.
