It is a great directory to get into - I agree. I think the reason that they are so short on editors is that they are so strict.

I applied to be an editor, waited over a month only to be (rather rudely) rejected.

I don't use it and not sure many others do either which is probably one of the reasons why there are outstanding submissions.

It is well worth being in DMOZ .

Unfortunately they are always short on editors and can take one hell of a long time to get your site in.
