Default New Yellow Pages has come through

I've just had mine delivered and it is about half the size of the previous one both in thickness and dimensions....

Is this finally a definitive sign that traditional Yellow pages is obsolete? We all knew it would happen but it was still a bit of a shock when I picked it up.

I too have noticed a obvious change in the thickness of the yellow pages book.
This i believe is for two reasons:
1-The obvious peopleare not paying for it because they are turning to the web
2-Another problem with the yellow pages is that they are always changing the areas trying to make more money i.e 5 books to large area that was previously 2 books.
Are you looking for business advertising that really works?
Want a free website thrown in?

I hate the yellow pages. Not because its useless as a directory - but because every year you get more and more companies who are allowed to list themselves as AAAAAA Window Cleaning and AAAAA+++++ Cod Fencing Services etc etc

It just makes a mockery of listing thing in alphabetical order. If you happen to be looking for a company by name.

And as for the category names - wtf, most of them are never you have heard of - just some posh name for the category

    TA

    Baz

Also I had mine the other day - I think the delivery driver just got half way down the farm track and just threw a few in the hedge. I only noticed cos I ran over one.

I stooped advertising in YP a couple of years ago.

I tried their website advertising with a link to my site at a cost of £750 for a particular area. This was a waste of money and I didnt renew.

Susequently the same link was offered to me as "a special offer" for £90 which I turned down. It would be worth about £30 a year to me presently and may be worth waiting for the price to drop to that level if they last long enough.

It's game over for the printed directory and probably for the website too.

    Cheers.

I agree with you ,the most low cost method to promote your products is faxmailing.

....and also the most annoying. It is NOT cost effective to the recipient
