    Default Driving Lessons!

    Hello all

I'm on my 5th driving lesson now, arrgh! And have finally got the hang of the clutch properly, hurrah! I also did roundabouts and traffic lights today with pretty much no problems. Quite proud of myself today

Any other learner drivers on here or am I just a late learner (I'm 24!)

Not a learner no, but we've just completed the site for www.theorytest.co.uk where you can do a free theory test every day - or pay for full access

    Worth a shot!

This reminded me of how I learnt parrallel parking. It wasn't one of the things on the test back when I qualified so the instructers rarely bothered teaching it.

One summer I had unlimited use of my mum's car, and was working in Swindon, opposite the offices was a disused road where you could park for free, as opposed to the car park down the road at £6 a day.

Nothing like that as an incentive. Cars jam packed in all sorts of weird and wonderful gaps, taught me how to reverse & parrallel park into the tinsiest of spaces!!!

Blimey - when I did my test you still had a bloke walking in front of the carriage waving a red flag

I nearly ran someone over when I was doing the reverse around the corner thing in my test

I think the examiner took pity on me or got scared when I started arguing with myself saying I could do it and I passed

Well done you My advice is enjoy every min of your lesson and you'll sail all other lessons and your test.

My first driving test was when i was 16, its was to be able to drive a farm tractor on the road.

Second test was my car in 1984, had 5 lessons then passed first time.

Third test was in 2 parts back in 1989, motorcycle part 1 around cones and practice on the road, part 2 was when the examiner stood on the pavement and watched me go past a few times. Passed that aswell. well chuffed.

Fourth test was my Class 1 HGV in 1994. Loved that test, was so relaxed and passed with flying colours.

Me just simply loves driving, i grew up on a massive country estate and started driving land rovers, banger old cars and motorbikes when i was approx 12 yrs old.

Mind you, i've also been slightly naughty on the road, contrary to Bruce Forsyth's catch phrase "what does points make - prises !" not in this case, it unfortunately burns a hole in your pocket lol.
