    he died

    one minute he was fine, chirping away then he went quiet. I picked him up and he kept falling on one side, then having funny head shakes and spasms or fits and a limp head, then he went down hill from there and was dead within 2 hrs of being chirpy.

    oh well, I did try.

    That's really sad. Heart breaking isn't it.

    I've tried to tend for baby birds but few have survived.

    Ooops sorry did not see the rest of posts ,as I say we have rescued load of baby birds from the cats and very few survive.I was told it was there hearts that give out.?

    Awwwwwww Sandra and it was all going so well! You did try though as you said and there's a lot of people who would have just left it to fend for itself and eventually die from exposure and starvation...you can't win them all eh!

    Young birds are notoriously difficult to keep alive....imho best to put them up high to give them a fighting chance but in the end let nature do its job.
