    Default Twitter account hyjacked!

I think that my twitter account has been hyjacked by tweeterfollow.

Has anyone else had this problem, and how the hell to I get them to STOP spamming my account?

Are you able to still log into Twitter or have they changed your password?

If the former is the case then changing your Twitter password will stop any services you have previously authorised to use your account from accessing it.

By the way, it has been fairly common practice to surrender your login details to Twitter related sites when using them, but Twitter has found a more secure way to authorise access now using Twitter OAuth -- this will take you TO THE TWITTER SITE to provide your Twitter login details, authenticating you there before passing you back to access the service. This way, your login details are never actually shared with the third party at all.

This is what we use on our site to enable you to sign in using your Twitter account.

I can no longer get into my twitter account and I don't know what to do Seems that my password has been changed. After too many login attempts they have temp locked my account. I cannot even contact the twitter team Any ideas please, as I am completely cut off from my twitter friends.

Hmm, tried sending an e-mail to terms <at> twitter.com?

I've heard Twitter isn't so good if things go wrong. Downside of having a small team and big popularity.

Just noticed that you seem to be tweeting OK from Tweetdeck. Is that because you have it permanently open and haven't had to reauthenticate to use it?

Isn't there a 'forgot password' facility?

No, I cannot even use tweetdeck. I have tried, but when I press send, it just states that there is a problem and my message has not been sent. I have tried contacting the twitter team, but they have not got back to me.

I have also tried to change my password, but I get nothing back on email. It's so darn annoying

I know that I could start another account, but I have 500 followers now, and thats a lot to lose because some ratbags have hijacked my account.

    Fool's gold...

There's been plenty of warnings about these types of follow scam.

Unless they were hand chosen followers, i'd start again as it took me a week to get several hundred. Dead easy once you start the chain process, it's almost like pyramid selling - just pyramid following instead!
