You might try RealTransfer - they're just around the corner in our village (West Sussex), and doing a stack of old 8mm cine film to DVD for us, and I know they deal with many tape formats. Excellent, clued-up outfit (and no affiliation). Talk to Angus....

There are a lot of companies that can provide such a service, always worth finding a local one so you don't run the risk of losing the tape in the post.
