Default Could the internet make you rich?

    Hi all,

Did anyone see ITV tonight last night about making your fortune on the internet?

I love programs like this. Although it's a bit simplistic and doesn't give away bags of secrets, I still found the show to be inspirational.

If you missed it you can still catch up on:

    Happy viewing and buona fortuna!

Yes was great that they did not touch on the average ways of earning money.

    I watched with some trepidation.

I suppose TV is loosing enough revenue as it is without cutting there own throats.

I am going to be all old fashioned now. No, the internet cannot make you rich.

Hard work on a good idea can. And that good idea may well employ the internet as a major part of its link with clients. It may be an online business.

But success comes after the right idea, the right amount of effort, and sustained hard work.

OK Paul you is old fashioned.

Internet success in my experience comes from having the right product at the right time and knowing how to promote it.IMHO

Hard work is optional but not to be recommended if possible.

I know quite a few people that have made a fair bit from the internet without having to work hard after the initial setup.

The Internet is just another media.

Put the right product out through the right mdeia to the right audience at the right price...Bingo!

The attraction of the internet is that it is relatively low price compared to many medias.

However without the right product etc you are just wasting your time. The only difference is you are doing it in front of a bigger audience!

I don't think Paul is old fashioned at all. Make it rich quick schemes are a farse. Ask any one of these companies that were shown on this show if all they did was start a website and sit back and make millions...My guess is "NO", and I would say they worked hard, focused their ideas and perservered until they made it work!

Well the internet allows for the possibility of starting a business for very low cost compared with bricks and mortar.

I agree that for the average newbie ,get rich quick may be a bit harder.

But some of the pro marketeers that I know do very nicely and for not a lot of effort.

But like a lot of things it comes down to the individuals skill set.

Biggest problems I see is people trying to sell the wrong products and not knowing how to get prospective buyers to there sites.

But get rich overnight does happen on the internet because of the huge volume of people it address's , unlike your average bricks and mortar business.
