    Thinking outside of the box

    Hey!

For anyone who's looked at the website, you should be able to get an idea of the mammoth task of puling together the Last Great Challenge expedtion and the costs involved.

Taking out all of the work that we're doing for our charity (it's quite surprising how costs soon rack up when you're driving around all over the place), the work we're doing on the education seide, and all of the other activities that surround the expedition, the cost of us actually getting to the south pole and back again is going to be 253,000

As you can imagine, in this financial climate finding sponsors is a tough and time consuming business, so we're having to be very inventive with how we're pulling together ideas and offerings.

As well as offering large corporates the chance to get involved with the expedition, we wanted to give smaller businesses the chance to join in, so after a few glasses of wine the other night John and I hatched the idea of the Patriot Club.

In essence, supporters join a 'club' at a cost of 250 per 'entry'. There are some benefits to the club (see website) as well as sponsoring the expedition. The 'members' are also entered in to a prize draw to win a more prestigious sponsorship prize.

For more details about the Patriot Club take a look at http://www.lastgreatchallenge.com/patriot-club/

Also on the website you'll see loads of other ways to join in with the expedition, either as a company or an individual.

Feel free to mail me if you have any questions or ideas.

    Have fun!

PS. As well as funding we're looking for sponsors in all shapes and forms from resources, to services, to equipment and even help with some areas of the project (don't worry, the walk is down to us!). Right now it would be really helpful to have a sponsor offering us a a few printed t-shirts and a couple of embroidered fleeces - anyone interested in helping out?
