It depends what you call cheap.

Recently we had a client spending £100 a month on Epson ink cartridges.

We convinced them to spend nearly £400 on an all in one laser which was a big up front cost but they are now only spending roughly £20 a month on toner so they are saving £80 the printer will soon pay for itself and an added bonus is that it is super quick compared to their slow old epson inkjet.

    Cheers

In a nutshell and the key reason why I changed to laser. I got fed up with the old inkjet rip off.

Snap Me too , Laser is so much quicker, cheaper and it pays for itself real quick.

I really can see the point of Buying an epson Printer for £49.99 and then spending the same again in a few months on inks.

Mrs Punched has an espon sx100, the color inks for that are £29.98 in Tesco and £34.99 in PC world.

I've got a laser 3-in-1 and it is worth having for the far better quality printing [and thus image you project] as is the scanner/copy facility; BUT I wouldn't recommend mine. It is an HP [supposed to be excellent printers], I bought it in January and the one I have now is the third one i.e. it has crashed twice already and after laboriously long tephone calls with people I can hardly understand [why aren't there any English IT people?] they had to replace it on two separate occasions. It is a CM1312. Grrr.

Thank you to everyone who offered their advice.

I have settled for another Epsom 3 in one Stylus SX415, which seems pretty good, but then its only just been installed!

We have found a company that do cheap ink cartridges that are compatible with Epsom and are very good, so no worries on expensive ink.

When this one goes capput however, I'm sure that we will try a laser printer
