    Dentists

This is a real long shot, but I wonder if there are any dentists on the forum.

I had a filling a few months back that has never been right (really sensitive and painful when eating). I went back to the dentist but he was sure there was nothing wrong.

I HATE the darn dentist, so don't particularly want to go back, but when you shoot through the roof when eating, its not much fun

    Anyone else had this problem?

Sounds like you have a small cavity in the filling or it's not set right.

I had a filling like that. Luckily I have a great Dentist. I told him it was causing me some problems. He did a bit more work and all was fine. No probs since.

arrogant little git to tell you there's nothing wrong when you say you are in pain.

Might be worth reminding that one mostly goes to a dentist to get rid of pain .

Dentists on the whole in this country are generally pretty good in my opinion.

In the past my mother-in-law has come over here from Italy to have treatment as it has worked out cheaper and she says that the work is more reliable.

Also, my wife assures me that it is a well know fact that in Italy some of the better dentists are the ones that are not actually qualified and hold forged qualification papers!

Fuzzy doesn't do dentists either....., phone NHS and ask them to give you the number of an emergency access clinic saying you haven't got a dentist anymore. You will be then referred to an Access Centre and they are fantastic, very sweet and kind and patient, they also cater for people and children with SEN and are therefore very gentle. Mine were brilliant - still on waiting list for an NHS dentist - only been 2 years

    Thanks guys.

I have to admit this was a really deep filling and I felt NO pain at all. He was the first private dentist I have used, so it was pretty expensive. I was in that darn chair for nearly 45 minutes and I must have lost a few pounds in sweat alone (I hate dentists).

I think I will have to bite the bullet and go back. Wonder what he will charge me this time!

Another dentist fills me with dread since better the devil you know and all that
