It's a glorious morning today and full of the joys of spring. I always find it a boost when we get to put the clocks forward. I love the lighter mornings and evenings and find I am much happier in general.
We have been having a fun survey on our website www.nationalofficeweek.com for the past few weeks asking if people are for or against stopping our bi-annual clock change.
Surprisingly, more people than we thought have voted to Stop The Clock. Obviously there are big advantages and disadvantages for both arguments and I just wondered what everybody else thought.
Look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts.

We are in Scotland, and for several months of the year we are lucky to see daylight before 8.20, This would mean that Scottish children would be walking to school in the dark for many weeks of the year. And we are fairly south, bearing in mind there is about 300 miles of Scotland north of us, this is obviously a bigger problem in other areas. Even at the darkest times of the winter the children are still able to walk home from school before it gets too dark.
I'm all in favour of long balmy evenings, drinking chardonay on the patio, but unfortunatley praticality kicks it.
If we make it BST all year then it won't get light till 9am in the middle of Winter. Which means I won't wake up till then. Sandra's point about children walking to school in the dark is a good one (wait a minute - WALK to school? They all go in 4x4s round here...)
It would still get dark before most people get home anyway.
I would vote for putting the clocks forward a month earlier in the year and putting them back a month later than we do now.

I would second that, my kids wake up with the light, so in March, they're up between about 5.30 & 6am, and i'm counting the days til the clocks go forward!
