Not an answer to your question, Pete, but just to say don't forget to add your blog to your profile so that your latest entry shows up in your posts just under your username beside your avatar

If you go to My A1BF then Edit Profile it's down at the bottom and you just need to pop in your blog's RSS feed.

Well I want one. I am fed up of never having any ID. I don't drive and don't have a passport and it causes me no end of problems.

As I was saying to Pete about these, the kids/older teenagers of today are used to ID cards be it driving licence (for buying ciggies and getting into the pubs!), bus cards, student ID, and so on) so I think the younger generation will accept them without blinking; its the older generation, IMO, that may find it intrusive, etc.

I'm just a post war baby (well, I was). I find my bus pass serves very well as an ID card......

I don't care whether I have an ID card or not but my concern is that they won't do anything to control immigration or terrorism because there'll soon be a thriving business in forging them.

And as for them being used to contain all our personal information, that'll be a gift to identity thieves. No government computer system will have a hope in hell of storing all the information on 60 million citizens. They'll just be a huge waste of taxpayers' money.
