Default Does anyone know...

..how to find out who a disused / derelict building is owned by? I've had a nose around the land registry site but it hasn't unearthed anything useful (unless I am just not interrogating it correctly).

Thanks in advance

Vicky

You could drop an email to the local councilor they often know/can find out for you.

Try the Land Registry although I seem to recall that you're not obliged by law anymore to register with them so the owner of the land/ property may not be registered!

It costs £3.00 to get the report from the Land Registry website that tells you who owns the property. If the property is not registered, then presumably it will not offer to take your money, but I have never come across an unregistered property.

Thanks guys. I had already checked the Land Registry but it hadn't come up with anything. Transpired I'd put in the wrong postcode. Doh! I've now got some of the information I was after.
