Nicksyb,

sure it will be alright.......simply top it up to the top of the stick....the max mark and monitor it on the same day every week noting down the mileage

Once it gets about half way down the stick simply see how many miles you have covered and then post that back here

As the old duffer says....ALL cars burn a small amount of oil due to internal wear and friction

The old Duffer

the oil is burnt more on a worn engine as it is able to pass the piston rings and the valve guides into the combustion chamber where it is burnt along with the fuel/air mixture.I suggest you keep an eye on your oil consumption.and check it after a long journey.

This is not an indication that the engine is on its last legs, just that certain clearences are somewhat larger than found on a new engine.

Once I get to Gloucester I shall book it in for a proper service and treat her to a proper clean.

I shall keep an eye on her oil level, I do about 45 miles a day to get to and from work so she is used a lot. Then there is my dodgy driving that doesn't do her much good
