So here I am at home just pottering around the house packing stuff. I'm wearing an old jogging suit and look oh so attractive.

Then ................ two people knock on the dorr to view the house!!

I knew nothing about it and the house is a right state, I am mid laundry and have clothes scattered everywhere and boxes stacked in the lounge. Lucky I washed up, but then the bathroom is a disgraise. The only good bit is the garden

I just hope my waffling on didn't scare them and they were very apologetic about scaring me half to death.

Fingers crossed they like the house

I hope so, they had looked at next door and asked the normal things like how much electricity etc, the tenant next door said £90 a month for electricity. I said she must be eating it as £40 max for us here.

I am just ashamed at what I looked like and that my knickers were everywhere as I was mid sorting out my underwear draw at the time

Oh well, if they don't like it there is always someone else

I sold my house to someone who viewed whilst we were mid packing. I said to them don't even come and view unless you can see past the mess, because it's a complete tip, and I ain't tidying it up for a viewing today!!

It was the shock at someone viewing the house that got me. I'm not sure what we are paying the agent for if they can't even inform us of someone coming to view the place

This is our house, the picture was taken on a rubbish day and the garden looks soo much better now it is weed free

I can't believe they sent someone round to view without checking with you first. They sound every bit as bad as estate agents

They have come to buy a house ,not a jogging suit.

Fear not if people like a house nothing puts them off .14 minutes is the usual decision time.Amazing considering I spend a month deciding before I buy a new printer.?

Well they were in less than 10 mins, I answered all the questions really well and just pray they like it. Then that is one less worry about paying the mortgage in full next month.

more important than worrying about the house being a mess.......did you like the look of them, because you have to trust that they will look after your house in your absence........so YOU are vetting THEM as well.........

No your not. (Sorry fee!) You're selling a house, it's a head decision not a heart one. (Buying a house is probably a heart decision, but selling has to be head first). You have to leave the attachment behind and move it into your new house. Don't worry about whether or not you like them, worry about whether or not they're going to pay full asking price.
