[quote=Alvin;70291]Don't you think the guy you mentioned has suffered enough without being charged with being responsible for the death of his own daughter. And the driver who killed the child gets off scott free.
Hell yeah, but it will go down as manslaughter on the charge sheet, as lets face it, its true to the definition in law. Saying that I'd like the sentence to reflect everything which has happened and no doubt it will, but also its an example of how statistics may not reflect the true nature of sentencing.
If you had two bits of paper, one saying Manslaughter - 1 Year in prison, and Fraud - 6 Years, you'd naturally assume if you take the case on the name of the charge only that the person done for manslaughter got off lightly, and the person done for fraud got a harsh sentence in comparison, but really you can't compare the two.
The driver of the other car is clearly an innocent party, its really not his fault a Mini Quad bike was coming the other way down the country road with a little girl on it, that was the fault of the father but it was just a stupid mistake on his part.

you can't possibly say that.Apparently it was a woman driving a Range rover .
was she speeding, stuck to her mobile phone, putting on a bit of lippy on was she competent to drive the vehicle.?
Questions that can never be answered. As I have said before the survival instinct kicks in and only she knows the truth.
"The driver, a 28-year-old woman, stopped but went home believing Elizabeth had sustained only cuts and bruises. Later tests on her for drink and drugs proved negative."

Alvin.
ah fair enough, you know more details than me as I can'tfindthat info on the BBC or Sky news site. If that's the case she should be charged with careless driving or something like that.
Saying that, its still not her fault the little girl was riding along in the road when she was accompanied by her father, who himself was driving a 4x4 in front of these kids, and no doubt blocked the view for the woman coming in the other direction.
