Just discovered that my GSD puppy of 6 months does indeed have cow hocks and pretty upset
He is going to have x-rays next week (I think), but needs to start hydrotherapy a.s.p.
After much research its seems that cow hocks is a fault in the dogs conformation leading to misalignment of the knee joint.
At the moment he has a terrible gait at the back and his legs look like Mary Poppins. Worst of all however, is how his feet are scuffing under as a result of his long hocks. Prevalent in show dogs, or so it seems
The breeder is insistent I should not worry and has stated that his back legs should straighten with age, and the hocks will look more in alignment.
I just hope that Luika's life will not be blighted by this awful condition.
