Unless you complete it online (assuming that HMRC's site has not crashed) you will need to have it back by October!
No real issue there, but I wonder how many people will be caught out by this (as far as I am aware) unannounced change of deadline and be in for the instant £100 fine!?
As with most reporting requirements to HMRC it is the individuals or companies responsibility to file in time, not theirs. A cop out by HMRC but that is their view.
That's what they are banking on, hoping to raise £100 from each unwary person.
It's just typical of the kind of sneaky tricks they pull, like sending out demands for fines for not returning a P35 to companies with no payroll. If you don't appeal within the requisite 30 days, you've lost. Even if you have never operated PAYE and repeatedly told them that. According to my accountant they catch a fair few each year.
Blame the man at the top - a stealth tax regime will include a stealth fine regime.
