Product labelling - legal requirements

I am currently producing a new product which will be made in China and imported.

Is there a legal requirement for stating on the product that it is made in China?

I reckon that if it is a legal requirement for importing goods into the UK, then the guys who deal with import/export should be able to advice you. I kinda think it might be, because you see it on almost everything you buy even if it's 99p.
