Roversierr, members are not encouraged to plug their business in posts - it simply isnt relevant to name the business name. There wasn't anything unhelpful about that post IMO being an experienced forum user they were just telling the OP to becareful and keep looking for right one.

I know if you have carved out a niche for yourself then you would want to protect that, but whats the point of being a member of a forum if you don't "help" other people.
If you could at least give the type of business you are in and the name of the company you work with that would be a help.
Rememeber, there are millions of competitiors for you in your niche already, so sharing with some of the members here should hardly make a dent in your business.
How can I give advice when I have no information. I didn't join this forum to promote my website. Isn't that spam. I'll gladly give advice when asked. Pick on someone else. I'm to busy for that.

Forum memberbs do NOT have to help each other on any forum. It's completely voluntary to offer advice and you may take or give as much as you wish according to forum rules.

There are so many "online opportunities out there"- whatever you choose you have to have the will to do some work even if it's half an hour here and there..i've got a link for something i'm trying now; i did pay a small fee, but i never have before and i've done years of research into online work- this sites completely upfront about what you're buying into, they tell you everything BEFORE you pay unlike all the others- and so you know before you pay that you're going to have a potential earner in your hands...It's great for beginners, and so if like me you're quite new to all that internet marketing stuff, you'll soon learn with this..you just take it all one day at a time...I mean up untill now i'd only googled, played games and emailed; and last night i created a blog and set up a google adwords campaign- so feeling kinda proud of myself! ( I know most of you are probably computer pros though; so you'd probably do even better at this than me!) I'll post the link asap!

When i first left working in London i had a job as a phone canvasser for a double glazing company, working from their offices, I got £50 for each appointment i managed to set up.

To save the £20 train fare each week i asked if i could do it from home, They paid me the £20 a week toward the phone and £50 for each appointment, I used to make about £300 - £400 a week and that was aout 10 years ago

if she's confident on the phone, then perhaps this is the way to go,

You don't have to go with Double Glazing, their are other options and businesses, Insulation, Kitchens, Solar Panels, etc...

get a phone package where you get free calls then go for it

    Good Luck

Forgot to say, NEVER PAY TO GET WORK, Filling envolopes, writing out addresses, they all want a payment up front to register, Thats how they make their money!! Be careful.

Does she interested in giving online advice, lessons or consultation? She could join an expert advice network and provide expert advice session online.

I'm a SAHM who works part-time, I balance the benefit of the extra income with the benefit of keeping my brain ticking

You're not going to make tons of money only working a few hours unless you are lucky/hit a genius idea... unless you are solely driven by an immediate need for cash then why not take this as an exciting opportunity to do something you enjoy and hopefully with consistent effort, that endeavour will grow over time and be ready for you to take on more as your baby grows up.

    I do two things:

I freelance as a web designer / seo / web copywriter - this work is great fun, challenging, and builds on my conventional experience. It doesn't pay well for the hours I devote to each project but that's my choice work is starting to come in via referrals and I just accept the projects that appeal to me as I only have limited time available. I got started by pitching for a few projects on the PeoplePerHour website, I bid very low so I secured a couple, and it rolled forward from there - experience and confidence growing so my day rate is too!

The other thing I do is an MLM / network marketing / home business venture. Honestly - I never ever thought those words would pass my lips ha ha!! Actually, I love it. I have found one that really suits me, it's a particularly unique venture in its ethical approach and I have no other experience of MLM so I definitely don't bang that drum regardless. Each to their own.

Reason I mention it is that the main learning it has taught me is that this is a perfect time in your wife's life to be completely open to opportunities and to look at her skills (and of course what she enjoys) afresh... most people only "get the chance" to start with a blank sheet of paper after a negative life experience - e.g. a redundancy or... having a baby is a perfect opportunity to do just that - if you can look after a baby you can do anything!!!!

Good luck to her in what she decides upon!

There are several ways of doing this, in my experience more and more small firms and one man bands are looking to outsource more and more which makes the elance type market place very attractive.

Do some direct marketing and see how it pans out. Your part time/freelance skills are in demand.
