    Hi all,

How refreshing to read such positive remarks about MLM.

We first got involved over 20 years ago and were lucky enough to get to the top of our scheme, only leaving when the company took a direction we didn't want to take.

It allowed us to live in the UK, Holland and Paris and have a fantastic life style.

Very little has interested us since, though we have played with a few networks and only ever made a loss once.

When we decided to get back involved in MLM 2 years ago, we knew exactly what we were looking for, which a lot of you have mentioned one way or another above.

    1. We didn’t want a physical product with all the time restraints they require.
    2. We didn’t want to hold stock.
    3. It had to be a global audience.
    4. It had to be on-line.
    5. We wanted a product that no one had but everyone would have.
    6. It had to have a system that was easy to follow and duplicatable.

I'm glad to say we found what we were looking for and are again enjoying the benefits of building a successful Network again. Still part time but are set to go full time in August this year so we don't have any travel ties.

Unlike before it will take about 5 years for us to reach the top but hey what a ride. I wish you all the success in your own Networks and look forward to reading and commenting on your posts in the future.

The problem with mlm businesses is that there have been too many evangelical style mlm people who have given what is a good business plan a bad name. I have been involved with a few mlm 'opportunities' and come across many of those people who take the 'winners and losers' approach and expect you to dump family and friends for the 'dream' of 'awesome' wealth.

I am still involved in an mlm business because I believe in the strength of the mlm business plan, however I prefer to think of it as a 'nice little earner' rather than my route to the millionaire's lifestyle.

    You're right

At first (unless you are a whizz kid ) most MLM are part time top up income opportunities.

But if you can make an extra £400 a month, there is no reason why you can't make it £800 a month, then £1000 etc.

It just takes time/attitude and persistence.

Most people expect to make a LOT in a short space of time. When that doesn't happen, they class the scheme as useless or a scam.

But yes, hype from some companies can lead people to believe that BIG money can be earned almost immediately.

MLM has great opportunities but you have to start at the bottom and build up with consistent effort, it takes time and you will not get rich quick. I think many people give up too quickly.

I agree. probably, the secret in MLM is to have a lot of patience and become immune to "NO" ...that's why, there are only few peoples who really have succes in this.

For me, is ok to have my personal supplier for different stuffs, witjh good prices. And is enough.

Actually this short video by Tim Sales is interesting about failure in MLM.

MLM seems to require the type of person who is able to recruit and motivate other people to sell and then reap the rewards via a residual type of income. Nothing like this is said in the marketing material you receive when first embarking on the journey. There are so many good success and bad failure stories that you have to rely on your gut instinct to determine whether you feel capable of putting in all the effort, perseverance, and sheer grit to make the venture work.

I'd rather focus my efforts on building a good strong 'trafficked' website that has a global market instead.

I have been with Utility Warehouse for 2 years and having really not put any time into it for the first 8 months, took a good look at what I was doing and decided that I could do it more justice with a good balance of work, uw and family time. And with confidence persistence and assistance from my sponsor am increasing my business and income monthly. So "if it is going to be it is up to me" to quote Jim Rohn..

I want to be time rich and have a decent income coming in when I retire in 5 years I am NOT going to be slaving in a 9-5 job past 60. I want to enjoy my life with my family and not have to worry about the short fall in pension and by sticking to this I will be secure. The market is out there it is the time and mentality at the off set which divides the quitters from those who persist.
